Emma - New York City Serenade
Hey yo whats up friends?
Last night in NYC Serenade, when Emma was looking at the pictures…….. i don’t understand where she got the pictures? As I’m reading this I realize that they were most likely on Henry’s camera? IDK I was just confused okay. Does anyone want to help explain let me know:)
She found Henry’s camera at Neal’s when she went and got the film developed. Now why Neal’s apartment is still the way he left it and not foreclosed upon by this point in time I honestly have no idea.
I saw someone suggest that he could have set up automated payments, so he would be charged every month until he ran out of money. Which is quite possible! So that’s my headcanon.
This week I read in the news about a woman who died 6 years ago and they just found out recently after her bank account went dry and the bank foreclosed on the house. A year is nothing! :)
Whenever asked to seek the truth about Walsh, Emma never really answered. Probably in order to repress her “truth power” since she wanted to believe the lie.
In those particular days we saw, yes she was trying to avoid the issue and I can see someone fooling her for a couple of days. But this was EIGHT MONTHS! Eight months of talking about their lives and their pasts and Walsh pretending he loved her while he only rather liked her and was using her. And she didn’t pick up on it. If you can be fooled for eight months to the point that you are nearly engaged to someone who was sent to attach themselves to you then you don’t have much of a truth sense.
Not that I ever thought she did. It’s only useful when it goes off. If her truth sense pings there is always something going on. If it doesn’t, it means nothing.
Neal’s apartment? Automatic payments. All he would need is his rent on automatic and he could be gone for years. If he traveled frequently it would even make sense since he wouldn’t have to worry about losing his apartment if he was delayed or without internet, in another realm perhaps.
Also, I’m rather amused that both Neal and Emma’s only serious relationships (other than with each other) were with someone who turned out to be completely false. Neal got engaged and Emma nearly did. It’s an interesting parallel. Though, where was Emma’s truth sense??? It was even mentioned in the episode as she was being fooled by Walsh!
Episode 312 - New York City Serenade
Ok, did anyone else have an issue with Snow pregnant=1 year?
If they’re using Snow’s pregnancy (because they have no other memories) as the way to judge how long they’ve been gone, they can assume (I’m pulling this number out of my ass based on other baby bumps I’ve seen) they’ve been gone a minimum of six or seven months. They can’t say it’s less than that because otherwise she’d have had to be pregnant before they left. They can’t say with any certainty it is much more than that because that’s estimating time for conception specifically. Even if they pin point exactly how far along she is, that’s still not a good timeline without knowing how long it took them to get pregnant.
How are they estimating the time for conceiving in there? Did they have a prepared timeline? “Oh, knowing us, we probably needed to storm a castle for 4 months before we tried to make a baby.”
Would it have been that hard fro Charming to say “we’ve been gone a long time” or “a while” and have Emma fill i the “probably a year because that’s how long I’ve been away if time runs parallel.”
Ugh, it is these little things that make me crazy. CRAZY.
I pondered this for a while after the episode because it was driving me crazy. I calmed myself down after accepting the headcanon that there could have been other factors they just didn’t mention. Like, maybe, other babies being born, or kids aging, or milk going bad, I dunno, something.
Milk going bad! I love it. I can just see Grumpy, or Doc…
"We’re seven men who live together. You think we clean out our fridges? We know what eight month old milk smells like and we know what year old milk smells like. this was year old milk, sister."
I’m sort of going with the head canon of Snow’s pregnancy cluing them into the fact that more time had passed. And then perhaps they looked further into it, found old papers. I don’t know. They had to have known it was a year somehow.
Eh. As plot holes go, it’s a small one. Though I can understand how the small things can drive you nuts. :)
Just looking around town they would have pregnancies which are now babies. Non pregnancies which now are. Newborns taking their first steps. (Let’s remember that they have probably had days or even weeks to investigate before Emma showed up.) Or they could be assuming that since the date outside Storybrooke has moved forward a year they were gone a year.
I know somebody had to be a naysayer so that Bae could show his belief in his Papa still being around somehow (which, YAY Bae for believing!) but c’mon, David, you should know better than that. ;)
Yep. Where is your hope now? I think Bae snagged it. He was a thief after all. :)
